"so you want the lemon FLAVOUR candle?"

"no, you don't use the word FLAVOUR, it is for tasting/eating., it should be AROMA instead"

"ok, im sorry. so you want the lemon AROMA candle?"

"emm.. no, AROMA is still not the right word to use. it should be scent."

"ok, so you want the lemon scentED candle?"

this is the conversation i had with a caucasion while at work.
he is actually correcting my spoken english.
i admit that my spoken enlgish is really poor, must really practice more so that i will be well aritculated, more fluent and confident in speaking english!

everywhere can be a classroom. just the attitude of learning.

God's coffee

God's Coffee

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee!

"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything." Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

taming the tiger.

i finish the book "taming the tiger" by tony anthony.

a dramatic personal life account. i learn about his encouter with Jesus and how the new life in Christ has changed his charatcter from a blood-thirsty, angry man to a man of self-control and passion to share the good news with everyone.

and i get to meet him in person today at the youth service with senior youths, youth leaders, kaserin and huishan. wow. thats a bonus inspiration!

one thing i learn from him- never be ashamed of Christ.

Lord, give me the courage to share your love.

enrolment

enrolment- suddenly feel like a business man.

so many date lines to meet.

so mauch paper work to do.

going to banks settle issues.

doing color vision tests.

foreign languages??- another quarrel with my mum.
i wanted to take french, she prefers japanese.

and she kinda of forces mii to take jap. "its either u take jap or u pay for your own french" ( although both courses has the same fees)

she's being materialistic agian, all she cares is about which language is more useful in this economy, of higher demand in our region.

what about me?? choosing a polytechnic course is already a big sacrifice to make for materialism. i wanted something of my interest and passion. i wanted French because i love to read, many good writers, novalists, are from western areas they wrote books with names, dialogues in french. many classic documentories like march of the penguins are also french movies. imagine one day i can understand lotz of movies from the film festival?? that will be cool.
French language is like literature, is like art to me.

i guess she will never understand it.

in the end of course she wins. ( as usual)- taking jap is still better than nothing at all.

sentosa trip.

jaslyn, cherine, baoxuan and i went to sentosa today

palawan beach, the place where we spent our majority of the time to swim, build sand castles( we never complete a decent sand castle, most of them look like a hill instead.) and we ate a $3 chicken roll for lunch.( emmm. i never really like microwave food, but when hunger strikes...)

i wanted to take some photos, but didnt have a digital camera. handphone camera?? since the day i lost my cable, i seldom use the camera in my phone ( the photos cant be loaded to computer anyway..)

how i wish to have my own digital camera.

night safari

Night Safari.

i went there for the first time in my 17 years of life!.

i realize one thing- i ought to do some work out.my body is growing rusty!!-walking abit of distant is already taking my energies away.- tired and sleepy.

because its dark, we didnt take too much of photos.- it is said that we would scare the night animals. they hate camera flahes!

but we still manage to take a few shots.
